Terms of Service

SitterPlus operates an online marketplace that connects parents seeking childcare with independent babysitters ("Sitters") in Canadian cities. SitterPlus is not an employer of Sitters and does not provide childcare services directly. Sitters are independent providers responsible for the care they deliver.

You must be at least the age of majority in your province of residence to create an account. By using SitterPlus you confirm that the information you provide is accurate, that you are legally permitted to work in Canada (if you are a Sitter), and that you have the authority to book care for the children in your household (if you are a Parent).

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Sitters agree to complete SitterPlus's verification process, which may include identity verification, a Criminal Record Check, a Vulnerable Sector Check, proof of CPR and First Aid training, a selfie liveness check, reference checks, and an interview. Sitters consent to SitterPlus and its screening partners collecting and processing the information required for these checks.

Parents are responsible for reviewing a Sitter's profile, verification status, and reviews before booking. Parents must provide safe premises, accurate information about their children (including allergies and medical needs), and emergency contact details.

Bookings are agreements between the Parent and the Sitter. SitterPlus facilitates payments through a third-party payment processor and may charge service fees, which will be disclosed before confirmation. Cancellations, refunds, and disputes are handled under the policies displayed at the time of booking.

You agree not to harass, discriminate against, or endanger any user; not to misrepresent your identity, experience, or certifications; not to circumvent SitterPlus's payment system; and not to use the platform for anything unlawful. Violations may result in immediate account termination and reporting to authorities where appropriate.

You retain ownership of the content you post (profiles, photos, reviews). You grant SitterPlus a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and use that content to operate and promote the platform. You must not post content that is false, defamatory, or infringing.

The platform is provided "as is". While SitterPlus performs verification checks on Sitters, we do not guarantee the conduct of any user. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SitterPlus disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable Canadian law.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SitterPlus's aggregate liability arising from your use of the platform is limited to the fees you paid to SitterPlus in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

You agree to indemnify SitterPlus against claims arising from your violation of these terms, your misuse of the platform, or your interactions with other users.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be brought in the courts located in Toronto, Ontario, unless a mandatory law in your province requires otherwise.

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the platform or by email. Continued use of SitterPlus after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
